Invisible Children @ Foothills

30 03 2011

Invisible Children uses film, creativity, and social action to end the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony’s rebel war and restore Northern Uganda to peace and prosperity.

On Sunday, May 1 at 10:45am in the Student Building, Invisible Children’s crew, along with Agness, a Ugandan citizen, will be showing their new documentary “Tony” and speaking with us on the current state of the war in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, and Sudan. Parents, please be aware of the content that will be shown. Invisible Children does not show unneeded nor excessive brutality, but does show the realities of war and its effect on women and children.

Invisible Children does not charge for any of their events, nor do they ask for a stipend but raise much of their funds through merchandise sales. We encourage those who are able to purchase apparel, CD’s, books, posters, and more that will go to support the work of Invisible Children. Click here for a fact sheet that includes more details on Invisible Children and their current campaign. More information please visit the Invisible Children homepage.
